For the third year in a row, UFDS can offer its members the same premium of DKK 22.00 per day of hiring.

For the third year running, UFDS members can look forward to an unchanged premium level of DKK 22 per day of hiring, which is extremely competitive compared to the market in general.

Despite a volatile global trade market in 2025, that saw the well-known world order with international rules and a large degree of free trade between the biggest economies challenged by the introduction of changing tariffs and responses to this, the Danish Shipowners’ Accident Insurance Association remains stable and solid.

And even with an uncertain future in our sights, we expect to be able to remain at the same level in 2026, which means that the members' premium at the beginning of 2026 is set at DKK 22.00 per day of hiring. This is the third year in a row with unchanged premiums after moderate increases from 2021 through 2024.

That was the message from chair Lars Henneberg on behalf of the board at with last week's general assembly in UFDS.

This is a very competitive premium level compared to the Danish market for workers' compensation insurance in general, which pleases Lars Henneberg and CEO of UFDS, Christina Bustrup.

»As a mutual insurance company, we are not required to produce a return on capital, and in addition, in recent years there has been a continuous improvement in safety and the working environment at sea. It’s gratifying to see that the growing focus among our members on constantly improving loss prevention and safety is bearing fruit and is an important element that contributes to a stable premium level,« Christina Bustrup says.
