The Danish Shipowners’ Accident Insurance Association was established by a group of Danish shipping companies and is a mutual insurance company structured as an insurance association. However, foreign shipping companies may take out insurance for business conducted on Danish-registered ships.

Because your employer has taken out statutory industrial injury insurance with us, this means you are insured by UFDS if you suffer an industrial injury at sea. It is your employer’s duty to report industrial injuries, but it is important that you check whether your employer has in fact done so in your particular case.

The Danish Shipowners’ Accident Insurance Association is a mutual insurance company that has provided insurance for personnel at sea for more than 100 years. We were established in 1901 for the purpose of providing low-cost insurance with a high level of expertise in the maritime sector.
